The SoundSport summer season will make a stop in Allentown, PA in August for the second year in 2018.
J. Birney Crum Stadium is a familiar venue for drum corps fans and in 2017 played host to the east coast’s first SoundSport event in the picturesque setting of Cedar Creek Park. A popular spot each year during the DCI Eastern Classic for tailgaters and for corps warm-ups, hundreds of fans make their way through the park’s winding paths each summer to see their favorite corps in action. The 2018 SoundSport event will return to the Allentown park to build on the success of last year, giving participants both old and new the opportunity to share in the history of this event.
Each SoundSport ensemble consists of 5 or more members of any age and any instrumentation. Their musical performance is between five and seven minutes staged on a 30 yd by 20 yd performance area. This SoundSport competition will also feature DrumLine Battle teams, creating an exciting, high energy and entertaining event for both participants and spectators!
